Democratic candidates for the Greene County board of supervisors – Linn Cipperley-Price, Chris Henning and Ginny Showman – are hosting a visit by J.D. Scholten, Cindy Oppedal Paschen and Shelly Stotts Sunday afternoon, Oct. 18.
Scholten is running for the Fourth Congressional District seat. Paschen is running for the Iowa Senate District 24 seat, and Stotts is running for the Iowa House District 47 seat.
The visit will be informal. The candidates will be at Thomas Jefferson Gardens at 11:30 am. At noon they’ll go to the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower; it will be the first visit there for all three candidates. The candidates will be available to pose with voters and families at the top of the tower.
The candidates will return to the Rotary pavilion at Thomas Jefferson Gardens at 12:30 pm for homemade pie, coffee, and conversation with voters. Area residents are encouraged to share with the candidates their ideas of how federal, state, and county elected officials can best serve their constituents.
Face masks are required.
The three candidates will leave Jefferson at 1:30. Scholten plans to visit Deal’s Orchard on his way out of Jefferson.
